Dear Counselors,
The Village of Rockville Center has a new initiative to try and prevent suicide by train. They have painted five large signs advertising 988 at their train station. These signs will remain in place for 6 months as a trial run. If the signs are successful, they hope to add more to other LIRR stations. We are tracking publicity for these signs as “988 RVC Sign.” Please remember to ask how callers got our number. You do not necessarily have to ask “Did you get our number from the RVC sign?” but remember to ask how they heard about 988.
I have included a photo here in case anyone is curious as to what the sign looks like.
