Hello Volunteer Counselors!
As we’ve spoken about in community meetings, we’re planning to re-launch our crisis chat, which will be integrated into Five9, seven days a week from 7am-11pm starting Monday September 11th (just in time for school!). This is very exciting for us and as volunteers, it will increase the number of contacts you have in a shift. We realize that many of you started volunteering during/post covid and were not involved in our previous chat program, however I assure you, you counsel the same way as on the phone, except instead of speaking the words, you write them down.
We are hoping that ALL volunteers want to add chat to their Five9 profile, however we understand that some may not.
Please let me know if would like to participate in chat, or would rather stick to only phone calls by clicking this link and filling out this one question poll https://forms.gle/wze5aMgeCmhLXaer5 . If you already saw this email and filled out the survey, please just ignore this… no need to fill it out twice. Please fill this out by Friday September 1st the latest so I can keep track of who is doing what and update your Five9 profile accordingly.
I will prepare and send out a short training video once I know who is on board. And just to add, it is VERY easy to use the chat feature on Five9 and does not require any additional websites or sign ins or anything like that. I will also send our short online counseling manual as a refresher for those of you who have done chat in the past, and as a learning tool for those who have not.
