To say that ALL of our hearts were warmed at LICC this weekend would be an understatement. We are SO grateful to everyone that stepped up and heeded the call (or email) to help with the weekend gaps. Our schedule went from looking like a moldy piece of swiss cheese to a beautiful piece of art filled with the names of volunteers who keep our mission close to their hearts. We could not be all that we are without every single volunteer we have, and in the coming months we really need all hands on deck to keep this schedule full. Even picking up one or two hours at a time when you’re home and bored is a bigger help than you will ever know. You might spend all of that time watching Netfilx waiting for a call to come through, OR you might save a life. Bu,t no matter what you do during that time, you’re saving the crisis center. If you know me, you know I’m not the most “touchy feely” person but seeing that schedule fill up (for not only last weekend, but the gaps this coming week too!) made me smile ear to ear.
